Body Image and Self-Esteem for Teens and Tweens combines the major
components of health and fitness with group activities and group discussion. This workshop is offered as a stand-alone program or as part of a customized
multi-series program.

Throughout history, attractiveness and the perception of male and female beauty was shaped by the values, beliefs, geography, and customs of one’s people. Today, exposure to trends from around the world through social media, television, film, and fashion has inspired a blending of beauty ideals that reflect cross-cultural diversity while shaping modern standards of attractiveness. In this workshop, Chesna will share images, traditional practices and artifacts from her multicultural background. Participants will then explore how their culture defines attractiveness across genders, along with the rituals connected to those ideals. Participants are invited to bring cultural images and photos of family members to share during group discussion.
