This part of my post is dedicated, with love of course, to the women who only see it fit to tone up their abs even though the rest of them is, how should I say, in dire need of help. Today, I met 2 young women who were significantly overweight. Neither seemed to care about overall health; All that mattered was having toned abs. If I were one to drink, I’d order a stiff one right about now because I’ve heard this from so many women of color- yep, keeping it real- that I am working on a free report just to cover the issue.
Most Black and Spanish women want to keep their hips, butt and thighs. It’s a cultural thing and I can definitely relate! There is nothing attractive or womanly about a stick figure. BUT I cannot and will not focus solely on the abs when the whole body is in jeopardy as a result of too much weight or other harmful conditions. I’m good at what I do and I can work wonders but geez, let’s get real people^_^

October is breast cancer month and there are many ways to support the cause. Naturally, I’m pretty psyched about the physical activities like the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer which will take place in NYC this weekend and The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure http://komen.org which will take place throughout the month in different cities. Check for an event near you.
Finally, my friends, mentors and loved ones have been urging me to take new fitness pics for the site. Yes, I know! So, I am casting a viral net in search of some funky designs and styles to rock during the shoot and you’re hearing it first here folks! I’ll release some ads, perhaps on Craigslist and Youtube, soon. In the meantime, I want to hear from you if you’re an up and coming designer or stylist. I already have a hair person, thanks.
PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT looking for slut appeal so don’t waste our time if your idea of style warrants an X-rating. Also note, I plan to give the designers and stylists major coverage via my website. I will not compensate monetarily- on a shoestring people. Finally, I would like to put together a style team to use in future endeavors.
